WOMEN OF THE BIBLE I: EVE

Hey everyone!
I have been very busy taking care of my baby, and feel tired most of the time. So much that I can’t afford the luxury of sewing or working on any major project. However, by next year January, she will be six months old and I will stop exclusive breastfeeding. Then I will start sewing again and sharing all my work. I am currently working on a sew-along Facebook group, and Instagram page; work will resume fully next year.

One thing I have time for though is my Bible. I started reading the Bible from Genesis sometime in 2015 and finished it this year August, but I felt it was rushed, so I decided to start all over again. This time, my aim is not simply to read through to the end, but to fully understand and digest everything therein with the help of the Holy Spirit. As I read, I am taking notes on women of the Bible. Let me share with you two things I’ve learnt from the first woman in the Bible, Eve.
  1.  She was created to be a help to the man- Genesis 2:18-25. As married women or about to be married women, we must not forget that God’s original plan for us is to be a help to our spouses. To support them and to stand by them. I read a book; Created to be his help meet by Debi Pearl that helps analyse how to fully work in God’s purpose for me as a woman.
  2. Eve was carried away and allowed herself to fall into temptation- Genesis 3:1-24. Temptation in itself is not a sin, but falling into temptation is a sin. I have learnt to always be careful to obey every word of God, and to constantly pray for the Holy Spirit to order my steps aright.

Our ultimate goal in life should be to please God, and live a life worth emulating. I have heard someone say “let your life be the Bible that people read”. May the grace of God be with us. God bless you!

P.S
This is my beautiful daughter!

WHEN IS THANKSGIVING?

Hey everyone!

This year, 2016 thanksgiving is on the 24th of November.

Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated mostly by Americans. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November yearly. Families and friends usually eat meals specially prepared with turkey, spend time together and share what they are thankful for/ to have.

In Nigeria, this is not a recognised celebration. However, it is a good idea for family members to spend time with one another at least once a year and be happy. If you are in Nigeria, I encourage you to organise a family gathering with every member of the extended family present, invite friends, cook and thank God for all He has done from the beginning of this year. It doesn’t even have to be on the 24th Of November, your meal must not be prepared with turkey, and you must not celebrate it like the Americans. What is most important is that you make out time with family and friends to thank God.

Thanksgiving should not only be in November, we should all cultivate the habit of spending special moments with loved ones and families to thank God, especially for the gift of life.

Happy thanksgiving! God bless you!

New November; I'm Back!

Hey everyone!

Happy new month! Welcome to the month of November! In this month, I have decided among other things
to start blogging again.

So, it’s been years since my last post. Actually it’s been four long years... A lot happened.

I graduated from college, got a Masters Degree, and now I’m married with a lovely baby. My previous blogs used to be about; how much I hated school, how I couldn’t wait to graduate and return home to my country Nigeria, movie reviews and some other social activities. Over the years I have learnt a lot, plus realizing that school wasn’t so bad after all, and I’m glad that I stayed till graduation.

Now with the decision to resume blogging, it will mostly be about; DIY (Do it Yourself), my sewing lessons, movie review, and lifestyle generally. I’m excited because I already have a lot of things to blog about...

Also, it’s a new month and I hope we all make the most of this 30-day November. Have a wonderful month, and God bless you!

THE HIGHWAY TO HELL by Awe Hilary

Man is on a journey to a destination of choice, and as the day passes by, the total length of his journey diminishes. The more the day progresses, the closer he approaches his end. Death is an inevitable occurrence, and it is a gateway of uncertainty which is directly proportional to the decisions made by a man while alive.

The Bible in the book of Proverbs 16:25 says “there is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death”. The word “death” as used here, does not literally refer to the inevitable phenomenon of "death" that everyone must go through before arriving at a final destination, but was used to refer to the eternal ruin and damnation that any man will face as a result of bad choices. This is the highway to hell. Today, humans are involved in a vast array of activities that seem very normal, politically correct, and in conformity to the acceptable world standards, but unknowing to them, it is a high way to hell.

The highway to hell is a Broadway that has the capacity to take a vast number of people at the same time. The drive is so smooth and filled with pleasure but no reproof. It was well constructed and designed by the best acts of deception and witchcraft, with conscience slain on the altar and his remains dishonored. What a pity! The road has no potholes and no caution sign post warning the travelers on this route against an impending danger.

Life is a journey, and every living soul is a traveler passing through the route called earth. For you to be qualified as a traveler, you must have made a decision on the transport provider to travel with and also your location of destination. The intending traveler must also possess a medium of exchange which is usually in the form of currency in order to give him access to the services been rendered by the transport company. There is a transport company with a vast number of cars that only travels on this route. They have parks labelled “ignorance” and cars with various inscriptions waiting to board their passengers to a destination of no return. These parks have various types of cars with inscriptions to differentiate the various types of passengers. These inscriptions include lies, fornication, adultery, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, sedition, heresies, envying, murders, drunkenness, reveling etc, which are considered works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21). For a passenger to be granted entry into any of these cars, he or she must possess the currency of “death” which is the only acceptable currency in these parks, and must also be engaged in activities that connote the inscriptions on any of the cars. For example if a traveler is engaged in the business of fornication, he/she will be granted access to the car with inscription “fornication”, and if another passenger is engaged in more than one business, he/she is granted access to a car with more than one inscription connoting his businesses. The greater the business of sin a traveler is involved in, the more the accumulation of the currency of “death” (Romans 6:23).

However, the journey starts after boarding, with these vehicles taking the only route known to them which leads to the pit. The journey feels so good with various avenues of funfair and freedom that knows no boundaries. In this journey, “anything goes”, with no clear defined rules or restraints to guide these passengers, but suddenly a woman appears on the sidewalk of the highway. The occupants of these cars who are in a state of ecstasy mistakes this woman for a lunatic, and they say in their hearts, who is this fool? But the woman beckons on them with all desperation shouting “STOP STOP!!! PLEASE GO BACK!!! THERE IS DANGER AHEAD!!! and her efforts yield no results. The Bible in the book of Proverb 1:20 says that” Wisdom crieth without; she utereth her voice in the streets” and because “ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity (proverb 1:25-26 ) . Wisdom cried out but the occupants of these vehicles doomed for destruction refused to listen to her. What a pity! Have wisdom been beckoning unto you desperately and you rebuked her like the occupants of those vehicles? Repent now because the price of sin is too costly, for the bible says in the book of Romans 6:23 that “for the wages of sin is death......”

Hell is not a place  for one to spend his eternity because, it is a place of unimaginable cruelty where gruesome acts of torture is an occupation for demons. It is a place of wailing and crying, a place so extreme in gruesomeness that the occupants of those vehicles wished they listened to wisdom. They say to themselves, Oh! We would have listened to wisdom and asked the driver to take us back, but now it is too late when the head is off. Remember that salvation is a gift for the living, as there is no salvation in the grave.

Finally, as u read this article, i would like you to x-ray your life and ask yourself, am i really in the park of “ignorance” or am i already on a trip to the highway of hell?  If you are in the park of “ignorance” or already on the highway to hell, it is time to get out of the vehicle and embrace wisdom on the sidewalk and she would lead you to the narrow path. The narrow path is a road to eternal life and only the vehicles of saints are permitted. Wisdom beckons on you today, please give her a chance and live. God bless you.

JESUS CHRIST IS CALLING YOU TODAY FOR HIS SECOND COMING IS AT HAND. GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS CHRIST BECAUSE THE NEXT SECOND MIGHT BE TOO LATE. GOD BLESS YOU.

J. Carter; Seriously?

So, I was very excited about watching John Carter and I talked my hubby into it. We finally got the ticket on friday 11:45pm. I knew he was tired and needed to rest on a friday night but I still insisted on watching a movie that night.

I do not remember the last time that I walked out of the cinema while watching a movie. I had to this time around........I was like "seriously, did I just stay awake to watch this?
The movie was generally unrealistic to me; the foreign language used with no translation whatsoever, creepy animals as means of transportation, the creatures with four hands, not to mention John Carter's excessive jumping......

The lesson learnt? Next time read what others who have watched a movie have to say about it before rushing to watch it. Something I found interesting about the movie though is the body of the woman that got involved with John Carter in that planet (whatever the name is).I look at her and wish I could be that slim....

Anyway, am definitely never going to watch that movie again, that movie called John Carter!

What I can Do (1) Own a Hotel

2012 is a special year, there is a lot in stock for me this year, as such I have decided after planning so many things to resume writing again.....

I am going to begin a series of writing "What I Can Do" I have figured out that I have quite a lot of interests, so much I am most times confused about what I should do or not do.....So today I begin with the number one thing I have in mind.

What can I do? own a hotel. Why? because;

Interest- I have great interest for hotel business business. This was built right from childhood, my dad has a hotel and my uncle too. I grew up in the hotel environment and used to wish I could someday own a hotel, I worked in the hotel for a while and have some experience, now I know I can...Since I have the interest and know I am passionate about owning my own hotel, it is settled.

Top people- owning a hotel will give me opportunity to meet with top people in the world. When the services at my hotel is great, it will attract the high and mighty. Now I have to think of a name, and also figure out what will be unique about the hotel to attract all these calibre of people (I still have lots of work to do)

Money- plenty money will flow in without me having to work for anyone. This is actually very important for me, especially because I love staying at home. I am not limited by what others think, but can add a lot of fun and enthusiasm to what I want, working at my own pace. Awesome.

Plan- 3 years welcomes first branch in Abuja, Nigeria. 5 years second branch in Canada. 10 years third branch in langkawi, Malaysia. I now see that I have a lot of work to do, God will help me and yes, I can.
